Read Across America Week...aka Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!!!

We had such a fun week working with Dr. Seuss' and some of our favorite stories created by him for our Read Across America week!
"Horton Hears a who" helped us reflect upon doing kind and good things for others!
Then we worked with "Oh, the Places You'll Go" to create our own class book called, "Oh, the Places Miss Jones' Class Will Go"!
Everyone was very creative on their choices of where they would like to visit!!!  We had everywhere from Candy Castles to flying Jets and playing laser tag at Fun Depot!  Some other favorite places seem to be New York City and Disney World!
One of our favorite books from the week was, "The Lorax" and I truly loved hearing everyone's ideas of how to save the trees!  I am very proud of how reflective and thoughtful everyone was when thinking about what we could actually do to help save the trees on our planet!
These adorable Lorax writing samples turned out amazing!!!
We finished the week with one of our favorite types of lessons, a directed drawing lesson, where we created "The Cat-in-the-Hat" and these also turned out amazing!  I am so proud of my talented students and how well their listening and following direction skills have developed!
