Dr. Seuss Week, Day 3...Oh, The Places You'll Go

 Wednesday we worked with one of my absolute favorites of all Dr. Seuss' books, "Oh, The Places You'll Go!  The kids loved the bright pictures!  My first year teaching I started a classroom book themed off of this book called, "Oh, The Places Miss Jones' Class Will Go" and every year each class adds to the book!  The students picked great places they would like to go, but most of them said they would like to go to Disney World!!!  I would have to agree with them, I would love to go to Disney too!!

Dr. Seuss Week, Day 2...The Lorax

Tuesday we read and talked all about The Lorax!  Then we wrote about how we could help save trees just like the Lorax was trying to do in the story!

Today we read Horton Hatches The Egg and wrote about how we like to help people just like Horton helped the Whos from Who-ville in the book.

This Friday, March 1st, we are going to celebrate Dr. Seuss' 109th Birthday!  His real birthday is Saturday, March 2nd, but this is such a fun day for the students that I decided to celebrate this wonderful writer a day early!  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, look in your student's folders for more info about Dr. Seuss Day! 

Love Bugs from Valentine's Day

We had so much fun on Valentine's Day!  The kids LOVED passing out their Valentines to their friends!  Thank you so much to everyone who helped and sent stuff in, I really appreciate it!

Our Valentine's Day holders turned out just perfect for the students to carry all their special Valentines home in!

Don't forget to send in a shoebox for your student to put all their Valentines they get from their friends in!  We are going to decorate them on Thursday before we pass out Valentines to our friends!  Also, don't forget to send in your student's Valentines for their friends on Thursday!

Happy 100th Day of School

I cannot believe we have already been in school for over 100 days!  This year is flying by and I am so proud of my students for all they have already learned!  I can't wait to see how much more they grow by the end of the year!

Mapping the Playground and Puppets

We are finishing up our Mapping Planner this week!  Last week we mapped the playground and the students did an awesome job!

Then today we had a wonderful puppet show preformed for us from Grey Seal Puppet Company.
