Plant Day

Even with the cold and wet weather, Plant Day has been a great success!
One of the stations was a healthy food station, all food was provided by Golden Corral!
Another station was the Jump Rope station since our Teaching Garden is sponsored by the National Jump Rope For Heart Organization and Golden Corral

Mrs. McNosh and the Giant Big Squash

To go along with our Teaching Garden we are planting next week we have been reading books about growing and planting vegetables!  Today we read a cute little book called "Mrs. McNosh and the Giant Big Squash".
We used this story to help with our retelling stories skills.  The students made pictures from the beginning, middle, and end and they turned out awesome!  I was able to get a few of the students finished projects recorded on the Ipad. (Sorry they are upside down, when I converted the files from the Ipad to my computer I couldn't get them to play right-side-up!)

Plant Day

Monday, the 25th is going to be Plant Day at Smith Elementary!  Here is a sneak peak in to what will happen!!!
Here are a few of the different types of plants we will be planting in our school's garden.

These are some of the planter boxes that will hold each grade levels gardens.
As soon as they let us know what type of plants kindergarten will be growing, I will let you know!  We are very excited about this grant and teaching the students the growing process of vegetables!

Yesterday we wrote about feeling lucky!  We made cute little leprechauns and wrote underneath them "I feel lucky when I..."  They turned out so cute!

Pots of Gold

Since St. Patrick's Day is this weekend we have been working with a lot of green and Irish things in our classroom this week!  Yesterday we did a writing activity where we wrote about things that were more important to us than gold!  They turned out great!

We are still waiting on a couple of projects to be turned in!  So as soon as they come in I'll do a post about our amazing Animal Projects!  They look absolutely wonderful!  Hope everyone is having a great week!
