All About Turtles

These adorable Turtles are the covers to the "All About Sea Turtles Book" we have been working on this week.  These Sea Turtle Books are part of our Informative Writing lessons that my little Writers have LOVED creating!
 Turtle-y Awesome Writing
 Research on Sea Turtles
Planning out our writing with bubble and tree maps!
Using our research to write informative samples
So proud of how much work my little writers put in to this project!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  If you get a chance, stop by Claxton for one of the three performances of our Play, "Romeo and Harriet."

Happy Earth Day!

To celebrate Earth Day today, Mrs. Johnson (Mack's Mommy) helped us plant a Blueberry Bush in the front of our school.  We also learned that it has been over 35 years since Earth Day was established as a US Holiday!  We talked about ways to help the Earth and how we can do our part by doing simple things like recycling and turning the lights off in rooms after we leave them!
Walking and riding your bike are also great ways to help our Earth!

Mrs. Johnson did an amazing job explaining to use how important it is to plant new crops and take care of the ones we already have around us!
 Getting Started
An exciting day for my little farmers, we really enjoyed planting the Blueberry Bush and can't wait to watch it grow!

I cannot even explain how much fun we had and how exciting of a day it was to spend with my amazing students!
 Family Affair
 The Goat loving on Keyara!
 Flamingos soaking up the day!
One of our favorite exhibits, the gators!!!
 King of the Jungle!
The boys with the king of the Jungle in the background!
The Long Legged attractions were a big hit, as well!
Then we went to visit the Orangutan and he had quite the show for us!
We had so much fun, and even though it was a very quick day, it couldn't have been better!  It was so exciting to see all the animals we have been studying for the past couple of weeks and everyone had a great time!  Thank you again to all the parent volunteers, who were so helpful today!
