colAR

Last Thursday we had an excellent lesson with Mrs. Allbach about living things, specifically birds, using the colAR Apple App.  If you have an Apple phone or Ipad you can download this app and make your pictures come to life just like we did last Thursday!
We started the lesson watching a short video clip on mute to come up with some questions we wondered about birds.  By the end of the lesson, the most memorable fact for my students was that birds are born in nest but actually live in niches! This blew their minds that birds only live in nest while they are laying and hatching eggs!
This is the coloring sheet from www.colarmix.com that students colored then used the colAR App to bring to life on the Ipads!
The girls were able to hold the birds they colored in their hands!
And they were super excited about it!
Students working hard to color their bird pictures before using the Ipad to make them come to life!
Look closely and that little bird is in 3D and moved around!
I loved how well everyone worked together to make their pictures come to life!
Mrs. Allbach did an awesome job assisting us in this lesson to prepare for our trip to the Zoo on Thursday!
 Holding our "bird pictures"
I can't get over how cool and how much excitement this lesson created for me students!
Thank you Mrs. Allbach for helping us create 3D moving bird pictures!  We had so much fun and learned so much!  We can't wait to go to the Zoo on Thursday and see the real birds and compare them to the ones we learned about during our lesson with Mrs. Allbach!
