We read this cute book called Gilbert wants a pet. It's a very cute story about a goldfish that wants his own pet. First, he wants a dog...but the dog is too loud when he barks. Next, he wants a mouse...but the mouse no longer stays around once he realizes Gilbert is not a piece of cheese. Then, Gilbert thinks a fly is his pet...but someone came along with a fly swatter...and splat, that was the end of the fly! Finally, the author makes you feel like a cat is about to eat Gilbert, but it turns out he gets a catfish as his new pet inside his bowl! After talking about pets and what it takes to take care of a pet, we wrote about what type of pet we would want if we could have any pet in the world.
