Field Trip to the NC Museum of Natural Science

We had so much fun on our Field Trip to the NC Museum of Natural Science last Thursday!  Thank you so much to everyone who was able to join us on our fun day out!
Before we explored the museum we were so lucky to have two of the wonderful employees from the museum tell us all about different types of animals and then let us pet them!
Here we go...petting all of the animals!  Up first, the bearded dragon

Then we touched a snake!!!  He only likes to eat rats, so we were safe!

My little explorers were so brave!
A real life Eagle wing...this was really neat because the students could finally see and understand what we were talking about when we told them Eagles have hollow bones in their wings!
 Then we touched birds

We had so much fun meeting all the different types of animals, but next up was exploring the rest of the museum!
The Dinosaur Bone Room...my little Angels favorite room!
Explorer Jack's arm and a Dinosaur arm

A T-Rex Head!!!  It was really awesome to compare our own heads to what a T-Rex's head would look like in size!
Surprising enough, one of their favorite things about the field trip was riding on the escalator!
Then we pretended we were WRAL Storm Center Meteorologist!  They had a blast pretending to forecast the weather!
Next up, the Submarine Experience!  We were able to go in to a submarine simulated ride where the students felt like they were exploring the ocean floor!  It was a really neat experience and by far the students' favorite part of the whole trip!
The Butterfly Room...even though in this picture you can't see any of the butterflies, they were flying all around us and the kids LOVED it!  Look how interested each student is in the picture below checking out all their surroundings!
I cannot explain how much fun we had and how exhausted we were on Thursday afternoon once we got back to school!  My little explorers did such a wonderful job and I am so proud of each and every one of them!!!
