Habit #1 - Be Proactive

Last week we started working on Habit #1 of the 7 Habits of Happy Kids.  The 7 Habits are leadership qualities all students can learn.  Developing these leadership skills will prepare students for the future and to become leaders in their own lives!  After reading the story from the 7 Habits book we also read and compared "The Rainbow Fish" to someone/something living a proactive life.  The Rainbow fish choose to be a good friend by giving his scales away to the other fish and therefore was being proactive in his life.  To go along with this lesson we made these adorable Rainbow Fish of our own!
I love how adorable they all turned out!
Along with our cute little rainbow fish craft we also did a writing activity where we thought about some things we could share with others and I loved how thoughtful everyone was about thinking about something they really loved that they would be willing to share with others!  I am very proud of each and every one of my little Rainbow Fish!
Light savers, playdough, and new toys...all very important to Kindergartners! :)
We have also been singing some alphabet songs to help us practice the sounds of each of the letters!  I am very impressed with how quickly everyone is learning these fun songs!
We are so lucky that we get two different recess times during the day!  One in the morning and one in the afternoon!  Here are a couple of pictures of my sweet new Kinders playing on our new Playgound equipment that we are so lucky and thankful to our PTO for providing for us!
Their cute smiles say it all about how they feel about our new playgrounds!
The swings are a huge hit with everyone!  I am so proud of how well everyone has been doing with sharing turns on the swings!  It's truly something special to watch!
 Happy Faces and Happy Hearts!
 Just hanging around! :)
Feeling like they are on top of the World!
Once again, thank you so much to our amazing PTO for providing all the new equipment on our playgrounds, they are huge hits with our class!
