Snowmen and Mittens

Even though it feels a little more like spring outside this week, we have been writing all about snowmen and making adorable mitten decorations for our classroom windows!  We read a very cute book called, "Snowmen at Night" about what snowmen do at night while we are sleeping!  Then, we brainstormed what we think our snowmen would do at night if we made one!  After brainstorming some ideas everyone went back to write about what their snowman would do and then illustrate their writing with the most adorable pictures, ever!  I LOVE the way these writing samples turned out!

This week we also made some pretty cute mittens out of tissue paper stuck to contact paper to look like stained glass in the windows of our classroom!  They also turned out looking fantastic!

Also, a reminder that TOMORROW (Thursday, Jan. 19th) is show-and-tell day!  Our class earned this reward by getting 5 BLUE tickets from their specialist teachers!  Way to go, Miss Jones' Class!  I am very proud of them and can't way to see what they have to share!

Polar Bears

Last week we worked hard learning and researching information about Polar Bears to use in our informative writing samples!  I am so proud of how well they used their newly learned information to complete their assignments.  I also LOVE how cute their Fingerpaint Polar Bear crafts turned out!  Check out the awesome illustrations they added to their writing pieces, too!  I am so proud of everyone!
 Polar Bear Facts
We used our fingers to paint the ice and then added glitter to make it look like the sparkle off of ice when light hits it!  They did a great job listening to directions about how to construct their Polar Bears!  Way to go Kinders!  I hope everyone has had a safe and fun time during our snow days but I can't wait to see everyone back at school (hopefully) tomorrow!!!  Stay warm!
